Elected on 12 May 2023 by the Assembly of French Polynesia, Moetai Brotherson is the eighteenth President of the Country and the youngest to have held this office.

Born on 22 October 1969 in Papeete to a schoolteacher mother and a nurse father, he studied in France before working as a computer and telecommunications engineer in Japan, Germany and the United States, prior to returning to the fenua. A municipal councillor of Faa'a from 2014, he was elected as a deputy to the National Assembly in 2017, re-elected in 2022, and then elected as a representative to the Assembly of French Polynesia in 2018. In May 2023, he was elected President of the Country.
